Usage Note

Iconoclasta is both an adjective (actitud iconoclasta, iconoclastic attitude) and a noun (un iconoclasta, an iconoclast). Crucially, it is invariable by grammatical gender — un iconoclasta and una iconoclasta share the same form. The word originally described those who destroyed religious icons in Byzantium; today it describes anyone who challenges established norms or traditions.
