Heredera is the feminine form of heredero ('heir'). Together they form a natural pair: el heredero y la heredera. The verb is heredar ('to inherit') and the related noun herencia means 'inheritance' or 'heritage'. In legal contexts heredera universal means the sole beneficiary of an estate.
