Usage Note
Grosor is the standard noun for the thickness of an object — el grosor de la pared is 'the thickness of the wall'. It derives from grueso (thick, coarse) but is used for precise, neutral measurements. Do not confuse with grosería (rudeness) or grosero (rude), which share the root but have a completely different meaning.
Examples
"El grosor del cristal es de cinco milímetros."
Natural Translation
The thickness of the glass is five millimetres.
