Also means
to sell on credit
Usage Note
Fiar has two main senses: fiarse de alguien means to trust someone (reflexive), while the non-reflexive fiar means to sell on credit or on trust — me lo fió ('he let me have it on credit'). No te fíes is a common colloquial warning: 'don't trust it/him'. The sign no se fía in a shop means 'no credit given here'.
Examples
"No me fío de esa empresa desconocida."
Natural Translation
I don't trust that unknown company.
