Usage Note

Endosar has two main uses: the commercial sense of endorsing a cheque or financial document (endosar un cheque), and the colloquial sense of offloading an unwanted task or responsibility onto someone else (me endosaron todo el trabajo). The second sense is informal and slightly negative in tone.
