Doméstico covers 'domestic' in both the household sense (tareas domésticas = household chores) and the national/non-foreign sense (vuelo doméstico = domestic flight, mercado doméstico). Animal doméstico means a pet or domesticated animal. Note that violencia doméstica is the standard term for domestic violence in Spanish legal and journalistic use.
