Diario is both a noun ('diary', 'daily newspaper') and an adjective meaning 'daily' (trabajo diario, 'daily work'). The adverb form is a diario or diariamente ('daily, every day'). In many Latin American countries el diario is the standard word for 'newspaper', while in Spain el periódico is also common.
