Usage Note
Coste is the standard form in Spain; Latin America typically uses costo (also masculine). Both mean the price or expenditure of something (el coste de la vida / el costo de vida). The verb is costar. In financial and business texts, coste often appears in fixed phrases like análisis de costes (cost analysis).
