Corrimiento derives from correr ('to run, to slide'). Its most common collocation is corrimiento de tierras ('landslide') — the full phrase is preferred since corrimiento alone sounds incomplete to many speakers. In medicine, corrimiento can informally refer to a vaginal discharge, so context matters. The synonym deslizamiento de tierras is also widely used.
