Contenido as a noun is both content (of a speech, website) and contents (of a box). As an adjective it means contained or restrained, as in una persona contenida (a composed person). In digital media, contenido (often plural contenidos) directly mirrors English 'content'. The verb contener shares the root; note that the adjective contento (happy) is a different word despite the visual similarity.
