Usage Note

Cinco is invariable in gender like all Spanish cardinal numerals above one. The ordinal is quinto/quinta 'fifth'. Las cinco commonly refers to five o'clock, while dar las cinco means '(for the clock) to strike five'. The informal choca esos cinco is a colloquial invite for a high-five gesture, common in Spain and Latin America.
