Usage Note
Ciega is the feminine noun for a blind woman, and also the feminine form of the adjective ciego (blind). As a noun it is used with or without an article: la ciega or simply una ciega. The masculine is ciego. The plural los ciegos is used generically for blind people. Note that a ciegas (adverbial phrase) means 'blindly' or 'in the dark'.
