Usage Note
Chiquilla is the feminine diminutive of chico/chica, used affectionately for a young girl or, informally, for a young woman. The masculine equivalent is chiquillo. It is widely used across Latin America and Spain and carries a warm, familiar tone rather than a condescending one.
