Usage Note
Caducidad is the noun from caducar ('to expire') and appears on food packaging (fecha de caducidad, 'expiry date') and in law (caducidad del contrato). In Latin America vencimiento is often preferred for the same concept on labels, while Spain uses caducidad almost exclusively. The adjective caduco can also mean 'outdated' or 'decrepit'.
