Usage Note

Bocina refers to a car horn or any kind of horn used for signalling, and also to a megaphone or loudspeaker. In Spain claxon (m) is the more common term for a car horn; bocina is more widespread in Latin America. The verb 'to honk' is tocar la bocina.
