Bilateral is invariable for gender (acuerdo bilateral, relación bilateral) and used almost exclusively in formal, diplomatic, or political contexts. Its antonym is multilateral or unilateral. A reunión bilateral (bilateral meeting) involves exactly two parties, typically two governments or institutions.
