Usage Note
Autobús is the standard term in Spain; Latin America widely prefers camión (Mexico), colectivo (Argentina), or bus (general). The written accent on -ús marks final-syllable stress; the plural autobuses drops the accent as stress is then penultimate by regular rule.
Examples
"Perdí el autobús esta mañana."
Natural Translation
I missed the bus this morning.
