Usage Note
Arrogante describes someone who acts with a sense of superiority, often offensively so. It is close in meaning to prepotente (overbearing) and engreído (conceited), though arrogante emphasises an outward haughtiness. The adverb arrogantemente and the noun arrogancia are both common. The adjective is invariable for gender: un hombre arrogante / una mujer arrogante.
