Arrinconar literally means to push someone or something into a corner (rincón), and figuratively means to sideline, marginalise, or corner someone into a difficult position. Arrinconar a alguien in an argument means to back them into a corner. The reflexive arrinconarse means to isolate oneself or withdraw from others.
