Usage Note

Arriba indicates position or direction upward — vivo arriba ('I live upstairs'). When a reference point follows, add de: arriba de la mesa. It is also used as an exclamation of enthusiasm or encouragement: ¡Arriba España! / ¡Arriba! ('Up with...! / Hooray!').
